Pattern analysis of coercive control for family-law matters.
Carlton Research, LLC evaluates digital records, printed records, and primary records for patterns of coercive control. Carlton Research reviews text messages, email, parenting-app messages, and financial records in family-law, restraining-order, protective-order, and criminal matters. Carisa Carlton has testified as an expert witness. The analyst tests whether a pattern is present at the corpus level. A pattern is required to meet all of four prongs: repetition, relatedness, continuity, and asymmetry. Repetition and continuity are calibrated according to temporal records. Conflict is not evidence of coercive control.
The final product is a testable, jurisdiction-specific evidentiary-standard coercive control evaluation. Carlton Research does not perform clinical evaluations and does not recommend parenting time.
